Ticks... Overreaction?

i'm religious about wearing skin tight UA leggings and shirts during hunting season. I usually treat the leggings and shirts with permethrin, but at minimum the skin tight material will limit areas the ticks can latch into you. its usually at neck lines or waist band.

Save them, freeze them. That way if you come up w/ some weird reaction like fevers off and on for a few weeks you have a chance of figuring it out!

If you're bitten and want to have the tick tested to see what particular disease it is carrying, there are labs that will do that. Twice I sent the removed tick to a lab for testing when I couldn't be sure I removed it within 24 hours.

Moreover, if you begin to get sick, having it tested to identify what disease it is carrying should help with treatment. One tick I sent tested positive for Babesia so I knew what to tell the doctors if I began getting odd symptoms.

You can take a picture of the removed tick and send it to the University of Rhode Island and, within 24 hours, they will confirm whether it is a "bad" type of tick and provide a risk assessment.

Anytime I’m out in the field, I always wear my Rynoskin base layers(shirt, pants, & hood)

Gives great protection from all the bugs.

I still have an itchy bump from a buried tick last october, that i dug out. I've had 13 on me at one time before. Some partially buried. I dont care anymore.

The VA once told me I had lyme disease.... Then told me a cpl weeks later i didnt. At this point in life I just chock all my problems up to being a broke old man
