I have a Tikka 223 I'm thinking about threading for suppressor use. Whats the best option? I'd prefer 5/8-24 with a flared shoulder like my Fieldcrafts but not sure its worth the extra cost. I think i could thread 1/2-28 and use an adaptor or run my YHM turbo 2 on it. I'm sure theres plenty of threaded tikka 223's out there by now. I'm new to supressors and already love the noise reduction.

Most 223 rifles will be threaded 1/2-28. If there's enough material there, sure, it could be threaded 5/8-24.

If the silencer is 223 specific it might have 1/2x28 threading. In that case, that’s what I’d get the barrel threaded for.

If I was using a silencer I already had that was 5/8x24, I’d get a shoulder installed.

It’s something like $125 to thread and another $125 to basically have an adaptor threaded with shoulder to get to 5/8-24 to use the Hyperion. Or I can have it threaded 1/2-28 and run my own adaptor or direct thread the turbo t2. Seems more versatile for my current situation at 1/2-28.

Cut my tiika .223 to 18" and threaded 1/2 x 28 with an adapter to 5/8x24 Roksett running a Hyperion K. Don't regret it one bit. Also the adapter makes sure there is adequate shoulder for the Hyperion K.

I'm using the Rexsilentium adapter, its $18.50.
