I have 2 .243 threaded 1/2x28 one tikka at 17” and a Model 7 at 16” my gun smith had no problems at all doing it and they get shot a lot. For what it’s worth, I do run a direct thread can with a 1/2x28 mount. No adapters.

Sound great thank you …I’ll be doing the same. I have 2 harvester evos with direct thread for 1/2-28 & 5/8-24

I also have 2 243’s that I threaded 1/2-28 and my boys have shot them and beat them around all over with direct thread cans without any problems. I have threaded 30’s 1/2-28 also and never personally had any problems.

I have a 6mm with the lite profile barrel. It's cut at 18" and threaded 1/2x28 and I use an adapter to 5/8x24 for my direct thread suppressor.

A couple hundred rounds later I haven't had an issue.

Yes, 1/2-28 will be fine on a .243. I have a few .270s threaded 1/2-28 and it's never been an issue.

You can either direct thread with an adapter (as shown) or buy a HUB DT in 1/2x28. IMG_5857.jpegIMG_5856.jpeg
