Thread locker question

Mounted my scope last night. I was pretty tired. It was late, packed my kids deer out. Buddy was over and alcohol was involved.
I mounted too far back.
Went to the range and decided it was too far back.

Moved the scope forward and shot the best group of my life.

So now my screws aren't torqued and or locked.

Can I loosen one screw at a time and paint pen and torque it without effecting my zero?

Even if the zero shifts, it won’t affect the group size.

Adjust/torque whatever is needed, and then re-zero if needed. Maybe you meant to say you’re about to take it on a hunt and can’t re-zero or verify?

I don’t think there would be a significant shift in zero, but doing one screw at a time isn’t going to be the best approach anyways. It will still pull on the cap and somewhat spread the torque between the counterside screw. Just do one ring at a time, but do those screws together as you should.
