Thread Adapters and Accuracy

I’m having an obsessive episode of thread adapters and accuracy and have come to the support group for help.

The Odin Works thread adapters I run have the muzzle crown recessed deeply in the threads. Is everyone else’s thread adapters like this? I’m wondering if the escaping bullet and gases over a threaded cylinder like this affects accuracy.

My Howa shoots under a minute but it can be finicky.

See how the crown is deep down in the adapter.

Mine is the same on multiple rifles. Haven’t noticed any issues with accuracy when suppressed.

ETA: Mine are using cheap Amazon adapters and rocksett

Well it was a bee-otch but after two days I finally got my HUB adapter free. Stopped by Lowe’s and got a strap wrench. This is 3K rounds build up. I ordered a 1/2x/8 HUB so I can direct thread to my Tikka and Howa Mini.

GRL, I see you are going the HUB route, but if it puts your mind at ease at all, I have a Downrange Products thread adapter on a McGowan barrel that had 1/2-24 threads. My crown sits even deeper than the picture you posted.

Here is a 5-shot group that I shot two weekends ago while doing load workup. My suppressor is a Harvester EVO.

The short answer is, no.

Consider a muzzle brake with non-symmetrical porting like found on AR comp brakes with ports on the top for muzzle rise control. Bullets fly very nicely out of those and the clearance gap from bullet to brake is much tighter than your adapter.

I had a similar thought for awhile, have an adapter where threads sit excessively deep much worse than yours pictured.

Spun it off shot groups and put it back on and repeated, nothing changed. Just one rifle
