It sure is .... how is the clarity and illumination? Could you compare the clairity to a vx5 at all? That is what I haveI have owned a few NF scopes, & the
2.5-10 nxs is a great option for a 20 oz.
scope. Tough, little scope. If 10x is
Enough on the top end for you, it’s perfect.
if you need more X, I’d go NX8.
I’ve owned both but did not compare side by side. Both were optically good but not great. Where the difference lies would be mechanically & functionally I’d prefer the NF.It sure is .... how is the clarity and illumination? Could you compare the clairity to a vx5 at all? That is what I have
What made you sell it lStarted with a Leupold VX6 2-12x with a Boone amd Crockett reticle, but it was a big scope. Switched to the NF Nx8 1-8x due to size. Loved it. I thought I needed more acope so I went to the NF 2.5-10x.....I liked it, all the features of the NX8, but bigger. Sold it and went back to the NX8.
Yup I continue to hear about them being very solid scopes .... how is the optical quality and clairity ? I’ve heard some complain about parallax sensitivityI have always trusted NF scopes for hard use. I currently have 2 NXS 2.5 x10. One is on a custom 7mm08 bolt gun and the other is on a MK12/SPR. Great scopes!
It was more scope than I needed. What made you sell it l
What were you using it for ?It was more scope than I needed.
I would say that it is good, comparable to Leupold as far as clarity. The NF is much tougher and has very repeatable turrets. There are scopes with better glass for sure but I put my trust in the NF.Yup I continue to hear about them being very solid scopes .... how is the optical quality and clairity ? Yup I’m not trying to chase glass clarity .... just want a solid all around scope for out to 500 yards or soI would say that it is good, comparable to Leupold as far as clarity. I currently own 4 NF scopes and every one has been solid.
I use it on a 6.5 Grendel in an AR platform for hunting. I have made hits out to 725yds with it, but realistically will probably keep shots to 400yds or less. What were you using it for ?
Thanks, it was built by Chad Dixon of LRI. It’s a shooter!Thats a good looking rifle.
You've got analysis paralysis. How many threads are you going to start to ask for scope advice?Yup I continue to hear about them being very solid scopes .... how is the optical quality and clairity ? I’ve heard some complain about parallax sensitivity
I had the vx5 and the reticle was canted .... I also have heard of the tracking issues .... I’m going with the nightforce I thinkI was doing the same search tonight. I have two VX5HD leupolds and I am not sure it is worth changing to the 2.5-10 compact.

I’m not sure either but from what I have heard the nxs is better for all around use ..... and I’ve heard of tracking issues .... take that with a grain of salt tho u have not had issues with tracking with my vx5 (did have a canted reticle from the start )I was doing the same search tonight. I have two VX5HD leupolds and I am not sure it is worth changing to the 2.5-10 compact.
