So what are the differences between the ultra frame and the pro frame?
I see the power pulls, what else?

Addition of power pulls, thicker more comfy waistbelt and shoulder harness. The frames themselves are exactly the same.

A lot of people make a big deal about the power pulls vs the regular buckle. On the Ultra belt, I just tighten the right side with my left hand, and vice-versa. Obviously, it is not as nice as the Icon Pro belt, but it works. I don't think it is difficult to tighten. I'm sure others have figured this tightening method, too, but I've never seen anybody mention it, and I see a lot of people talk about how they struggle with the regular buckle without power pulls.

Yeah power pulls are more of a convenience than anything. I can get it just as tight with the standard belt doing similar to what you mention. The real upgrade IMO of the icon pro belt over the ultra is that it is more comfy under heavy weight....atleast for me.

May have been discussed before but I suk at finding info. Whats mosts impression ?
Missed one on classifieds rolling the marbles around in my cranium.
4-5 days out, meat packing capabilities and maybe use on a multi day AT hike.
Seams real basic which kinda appeals to me, I don't like lots of buckles, strings and such to deal with.
Price is right up my alley. Any other recomendations? Bad impressions ect ?

I own a ICON Pro and suggest getting one. Not an Ultra.

Just me but the icon pro bags seems overly pocketity;). For what I want given its use. The icon pro frame and the ultra bag is the sweet spot of the Kuiu packs IMO.

Glad to see good reviews on the Ultra 6000. I just picked up one from the memorial day sale. Price was too good to pass especially since I'm upgrading from an Army ALICE pack. Holy smokes is this thing light!!!! Night and day difference.

My big question-- has anyone run Icon Pro bags on the Ultra suspension?? I bought a 3200 IP bag to put on the ultra frame as a day/1-3 day pack.

The frames are exactly the same its only the suspension (shoulder harness and waistbelt) are different so you'll have no problem mountain an Icon Pro bag on the ultra frame. The only different MIGHT be the buckles used to secure the pack (standard buckles vs the goofy ones that come on the ultra) but all that can be swapped out too.

If you didn't get enough spare buckles to make the bag swap give them a call and you should be taken care of. I think the last time I knew someone who bought a pro bag for the ultra frame it had the other half of the buckle attached for the 4 compression straps. I know if you buy an ultra bag for pro frame they give you the extra quick clips necessary.

I picked one up on their memorial day sale (1/2 off with the stacked discounts!) . I like the bag itself a lot but I'm
Spoiled by my kifaru frame... I loaded it up with a 40lb sandbag and it seems to carry the weight nicely but it sags more at 45ish lb than my kifaru at 75.... I think I'll rig up the bag on my kifaur frame and make a KuiuFaru..lol

I'll probably pick up one of the small Ultra bags on their next big sale to use as a day pack..
