I shoot a Carter Wise choice and absolutely love it. Mostly treestand whitetails so I clip it on the D loop once I have it on a bow hanger and then I have a Total Peep release holder on the back of the release that attaches to my bow string to prevent it from dangling/making too much movement when grabbing the bow off the hanger. With that said I do a good bit of spot and stalk on wild hogs here in Florida and a lot of times I just run it either in the back pocket of my Marsupial bino harness that’s pressed to my chest or the very front zippered pocket with the thumb barrel hanging out on both pocket uses and I’ve never had an issue with it falling out it seats very well in both. I would say the side pockets would work but mine have lost elasticity over the years from running wind checkers and Allen wrench/knives in them when I’m either hunting or tuning my bow in so not my first recommendation. With all that said I still have my B3 Hawk open hook index release (just in case you want to keep using an index because the idea of losing a thumb release is a probability) that is really solid for the money and has a good bit of adjustment and an angled trigger which can really help a guy slowly pull into his shot without punching it. Hope this helps with your decision! Good luck!
