I haven't. Bedding is something I've never dipped my toes into.

Check out this video. It’s in Spanish but it’s easy to understand and see what he is doing. He’s using a Spanish version of JB Weld. I bedded the recoil lug on my HMR and it tightened it up.

Subd for some hacksaw action. I love a good redneck idea that works so my hat is off to you.

After you get done, I'd strongly recommend bedding that bad boy too. I've had a some great success bedding my own rifles. It's not too hard and if you're just OCD enough it can turn out perfect.

That looks great!, Now ya got me thinking of wacking down my Rem 700 varmint in 308 with its 26" barrel, that feels like I am carrying a telephone pole around.

Thanks. I really couldn't be much happier with the aesthetic considering it was all done and finished by hand and with a 30 year old bottle of gun blue I got when someone died. We'll see how it shoots and my dad might try to hunt with it this year. I'll update with groups when I get that done too.

Well with factory 165 Federal Fusions it is no barn burner, but it shot ok and should have enough velocity to 300 yards.

I don't have velocity number from before. I have the stuff to reload for it, but this will do for now.

chop.. if that does not work. carbon six makes phenomenal barrels. my carbon barrel is sweet. and i have not noticed a serious spread. I you have the ammo to burn i would see if adding a muzzle device or can changes the spread in a descernable fashion
