1 meal of real food. I have lived several weeks on dehydrated meals, and that's what I usually eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on 5-8 day hunts. That being said, about halfway through, it's nice to have something not dehydrated, it will do wonders for moral. I usually take one frozen steak vacuum sealed with garlic, rosemary, tyme, and butter, and veggies and bury in a snow bank under a decently sized rock. keeps most critters away and keeps it cold enough for storage for 3-4 days. Yes, it's a small amount of weight to carry into the backcountry but it's nice to get a relief from shriveled chicken+pesto/beef stroganoff/summer sausage diet.
