and 2 new eyepieces for it 30-70x TE-11WZⅡ and 40x TE-80XW. Looks like the eyepieces fit the 88 models, but power is lower, 25x-60x for the zoom.
Agreed, I’d be happy with a 66 or 77, I guess there is still a chance but seems like the trend is bigger is better.Wow
99 is definitely more than I wanna pack. Was really hoping for a Flourite 66
You could just add the extender, doesn’t mess with image quality but more atmospherics will, my 77 goes out to 96x.Agree here too. I'd prefer a new zoom for the 883 that went to 75-80x.
The new zoom eyepiece for the TSN-99 Series is optically unchanged. The "new" about it is the indication marks for 25-60 on the 77/88 series and 30-70x on the 99 seriesand 2 new eyepieces for it 30-70x TE-11WZⅡ and 40x TE-80XW. Just saw that got released. I’m sure it will be a big hit, but like others it’s not really my bag. I have the 77 and love it. A 55 with wider FOV, a 66 or 77 with fluorite would be bad ass.

Would the existing eyepiece for the 77/88 work just with incorrect markings?TSN-99 PROMINAR Spotting Scopes are $3,250.00 for the tube and $3999.00 with the zoom eyepiece
yes. Same exact eyepiece short of the new indicator markingsWould the existing eyepiece for the 77/88 work just with incorrect markings?
Beat me to it. The PROMINAR series 88 & 77 mm models use the Kowa TSN-EX16, a 1.6x extender easily mounted between scope body and eyepiece, changing the zoom from 25-60 to 40-96x (retails for $350 at authorized Kowa dealers). See instructional video here on Kowa's YouTube pageYou could just add the extender, doesn’t mess with image quality but more atmospherics will, my 77 goes out to 96x.
Doug, FYI it seems the possibilities of glassing with the new extra wide fixed eyepiece TE-80xw are being really well received by early adopting western hunters. Not only is this the widest field available but crisp edge to edge, 40x & 35x fixed on the 99 / 880, 770, with the 1.6x extender still have wide field but now at 64x / 56x respectively and again crisp edge to edge. I think someone on here needs to check this out and report back soon. The new zoom eyepiece for the TSN-99 Series is optically unchanged. Jeff I’d be very happy to check it out and report back, send one my way pleaseDoug, FYI it seems the possibilities of glassing with the new extra wide fixed eyepiece TE-80xw are being really well received by early adopting western hunters. This sounds impressive hope i get to see it in personThe brand new Kowa TE-80xw EXTRA wide angle eyepiece features the widest field of view in the market at over 80 degrees apparent field. It functions at 40x fixed on the new 99 mm, and 35x on the existing TSN-770 & TSN-880 models, Add the TSN-EX16 extender and you now have the ability to glass with a SUPER wide-angle fixed 64x / 56x power (99 / 880 & 770 respectively). Happily for glassing (and astronomy) the EXTRA wide angle eyepiece is crisp edge to edge. Definitely something to check out, we had a handful of hunters come to the birding festival in Tucson 2 weeks ago and test this on the distant mountainside and were blown away. All three have pre-orders placed!
