Just had a thought.

Isnt it interesting how we arrive at the decisions we make? Cartridge choices, rifle choice, scope choice, bullet choice.

There are how many 6mm cartridges now? And when you really get down to the details, very minor differences between a bunch of them. But for whatever reason, we arrive at one or another.

Sometimes 2 people have the exact same goals and go about them in seemingly completely different ways.

its great for us, each of us gets to have exactly what we want(or at least what we think we want).

Just kinda thinking out loud.

It's LIFE. I often ponder this with everything!!! caliber debate blows my mind, guys will spend 7500$ for 100FPS..... I don't get that. BUT with everything it's mind blowing too me!

To explain what made me think about this:

Ive been seeing "7mm SAW" recently and just today looked it up and found it interesting. The ability for humans to find that tiny little space between what already exists is fascinating. 7PRC is too much, 7-08 is not enough. all of the 6.5s and 6mms arent enough. but this 7mm SAW is juuuussstttt right for some people. Just fascinating.

Just goes to show just how good the economy really has been. Nobody bats an eye on spending big bucks, on anything for the past 3 years. That's how you justify spending thousands on 100fps or saving 6oz on rifle weight and just a bit more optical clarity etc etc.

When the economy is rocking, people just have the overwhelming desire to spend. People will find a place for that extra cha-ching to go.

Also a great example how susceptible humans are to suggestion from slick advertising. I was no different and bought everything Peterson Publishing said about guns and products until one day in my 30s when it clicked a certain rubbish product is total crap and all the brainwashing was just selling whatever the advertisers were willing to pay for. lol

Now I dont believe a word someone has to say if they are having to hard sell the widget. If it’s good, the advantages should speak for themselves.

Heck yeah man. The allegory of the cave. But the pic is missing the truth, which is outside the cave and only accessible to those who can climb out.

This is what life is all about. Take in every little bit of information and experience that you can, analyze the heck out of it, add more info, analyze some more, strategize, and just keep going like that to make our best logical decisions based on what we know and what we've experienced. It's all fine-tuning and tweaking until we get it all just right. And then something better comes along and changes everything. All we can do is just keep pressing on.

95% of the difference in 7saw and 7-08 is just running it at a lot higher pressures than 7-08.

It's not the worst offender in the more common wildcats, but it makes me roll my eyes as much as the others.

The best example to me is 22ARC-22Creed and 6ARC-6Creed.

If you don't need the extra speed, ARC may be your thing, but, if you do want to stretch it out (with the same bullet) Creed may be your thing.

There's no wrong answer, but one of them in each bullet diameter is likely better for you.

The 6mm ARC has a place and that is the AR platform. Otherwise might as well go with the oldschool cartridges of the same size that work just fine
