The wait is over Tikka 7PRC

So I ordered a 7 PRC from eurooptic. They emailed me notifying me it had been shipped. They got a small detail wrong and shipped me a 7 mag. Got on the phone with them and they said their was an error in the system. So got them to halt shipping and get it turned around back to them. According to the guy I talked to, they had only received one 7prc from Tikka and someone bought it the day before my order. Oh well, just got to wait a little longer.
If you have an action you'd want to swap barrels, I just ordered the factory 22" barrel from JA outdoors this morning. They had one left in stock after my order so they may still have one available you could spin on to an existing rifle.

Yeah I’m doing that with a 6.5 to 6 creedmoor right now. I’m trying to wait on a straight from the factory version since they’re close to what I’d build anyway.

The slightly shorter threaded barrels in 5/8 is an absolute game changer in my opinion. Drop it in a KRG Echo for $299 and get the rifle for $600-$800 and you got an adjustable stock with a rifle with a good threaded barrel ready to go. It might not be the absolute best for something like PRS but for 95% of us it would be perfect. I think you'd have a real hard time beating that combo for price to performance unless you want a caliber that exceeds the actions max coal

That's what I was thinking if you aren't reloading. Hornady box ammo us already a lie, we'll under advertised speeds. Then you have notoriously slow Tikka barrels so what are you rly gaining
This was my thought as well but you beat me to it. If these Tikka barrels are slow like other chamberings have been, combined with slower than advertised Hornady factory ammo, it seems to take away some of the appeal. It’s already an expensive caliber to shoot.

I personally shoot Barnes (I know, blasphemy to not shoot a match bullet around here) and the Barnes loaded 160 LRX is cooking. One video had it 100fps over box, and other reports people getting box speed from 22” barrels. Once I get the barrel and get it all set up I’ll report back speeds from the 22” Tikka barrel.

I’ll be interested in your results. I am a fan of Barnes as well. I like 2 holes. (Also blasphemy)

I took mine to the range. 175 eldx shot 2850, its the new batch not the rl26 batch. The barnes 160lrx shot at or above box speed of 3050, this is out of a 24in barrel. So id say speed is where it should be. Barrel was still speeding up as it broke in.

How was recoil (was it braked/suppressed)? I’m looking for a factory 7prc option (which is totally overkill for what I do, but I want it anyway) for a second hunting rifle. It’s going to be strictly a hunting rifle so other than training during range sessions it’s not going to be a high volume shooter.

I’m kind of set on either a tikka or a weatherby 307 at this point.

It has a brake, i also shot it without. Better with the brake but shootable without.

Seekins. Love mine.

I had an element in 6.5C I sold to my friend. I love it but even the ph3 is a little outside my budget. This would really be a secondary (well tertiary) hunting rifle. My main is a tarted up 6 arc howa, my secondary (for loan to friends) is a .270 m70 featherweight. But if a deal ever came up for a 7 prc ph3 I’d have to stretch the budget a bit
