The wait is over Tikka 7PRC

Having recently used/watched a 7mm PRC in a 20" barreled Browning x-bolt for a LR class I dont know that I'd want a UL rifle in that chambering unless I was 100% shooting suppressed. Spotting targets is difficult to say the least. If you were a heathen and a moron you could use a brake I guess.... ;)
Even with a non brake suppressor its punishing when your technique is off, mines 4kg and is quite lively to shoot with 175s

So the euro optic link says 5/8x24 threads, a Tikka lite contour at 22in will not support that size thread. Are these special contours? Or a missprint on thread size?
The ones I handled (which may not have been full production rifles) were a lite contour but the gradually tapered at the end to allow for the 5/8” threads.

Wish they offered a 20 in. If anyone gets one can you measure to see what barrel diameter would be at 20 in. Will it still work for a dt 5/8 if a guy were to get it cut down?

After my lack luster experience with my Tikka 6.5 PRC, low velocities, I will not purchase another Tikka in a high performance cartridge. I love my CM and 308, but if expecting magnum velocities I'm shopping somewhere else.

Yes, this is what I have seen - don't have one of these new 7's, but my wife has a new 6.5 CM and its a lite contour that tapers out with 5/8" threads.

That's what I was thinking if you aren't reloading. Hornady box ammo us already a lie, we'll under advertised speeds. Then you have notoriously slow Tikka barrels so what are you rly gaining

Got one coming from euro optic. 22” threaded barrel, 1/8 twist. Was waiting for a 300 wsm with a 1/10 twist but I think I can get by with 180’s in the 7 prc. The majority of guys I know with factory barrels shooting the Tikka in 300 wsm with 1/11 are shooting 180’s anyway.
The scheels listing has it listed as 24" and eurooptic has it as 22", did they offer two different configurations?

So I ordered a 7 PRC from eurooptic. They emailed me notifying me it had been shipped. They got a small detail wrong and shipped me a 7 mag. Got on the phone with them and they said their was an error in the system. So got them to halt shipping and get it turned around back to them. According to the guy I talked to, they had only received one 7prc from Tikka and someone bought it the day before my order. Oh well, just got to wait a little longer.
