Yep.....here's a 143gr ELD-X that separated on a small doe at 375 yards and both were found against the offside hide about 5" apart on a perfectly broadside shot. I thought for sure on a small doe the bullet would have passed through.Recovered a 175 gr 7mm ELDX from my 7 SAUM last week on a black tail. Lost the recovered bullet so no photos but only found the copper case on far side hide. Lead core was where to be found.
I have a 30 cal 200gr eldx that I shot a bull behind the shoulder with at about 180 yards. 2850 muzzle velocity. Recovered Bullet looks just like your first one, just a flatten jacket with a bit of lead. These are 143 eldx from 6.5x284 Norma MV 2940. One on the glove was mule deer 605 yards. Through lungs and found under hide on the off side. Single jacket was cow elk 330 yards. Quartering slightly to. Entrance just in front of right shoulder. Found inside before exiting body cavity to opposite shoulder. Pieces were mule deer about 80 yards. Shot behind shoulder. Pieces were picked up under hide on the off side shoulder.
Must have been hell to track lol250 grain Thor from a Whitetail doe the other day, plus its blood trail. Actually passed through completely, and was recovered about 4" into the divot in the ground it created. Retained virtually 100% mass other than the plastic expansion tip. Impact velocity circa 1650.

What caliber are those?all these are speer grand slams except the one on the right. one was recovered from a moose and the rest from elk.
2 of the elk were shot in the ass after being shot in the chest [when they turned to run]-
both of those were found in the heart.
the one on the right is not mine. i shot the bull in the chest and when i went up to him i could see a patch of hair gone and a lump. i cut out the right hand bullet then i kept cutting and found my bullet. the animal was healed and had no scar tissue at all around the bullet.
Those all look pretty darn good. Exactly what I'd expect from a bonded bullet.all these are speer grand slams except the one on the right.
Oh man, what animal was it and how far did it go?308 eldx
Shorty 308 a few years ago at 320. Not sure of the impact velocity but it wasn't going too quick. Quarting to shot found in the off side ham.
