Same could be said about a 6.5 can vs the new 6 can, but yet here we are 😁. If there is enough demand I'm sure someone will build a .17 eventually!
Doubt it. Even in airguns nobody makes a .177 specific air moderator. Every one is rated .177/.22 caliber.

As for the OG6.5 and the OG6-S, they are completely different designs and form factors. The OG22, if brought to market, will again be of a new design that has to do something different or better than previous devices do or have done. Cliff has said several times, he isn't going to release a product that isn't better than previous ones just to make a little more money. The OG22 won't be some other design with a 22 caliber exit hole, it will be a centerfire 22 cal suppressor with purpose and design to be the best choice for your centerfire 22 cal cartridges.

Reminds me of a deployment I had. We were a Blackhawk unit and made shirts that said “Sikorsky Light Utility Taxi Service” and we all made SLUTS patches We had complaints with the shirts…

We had shirts of a t701 that said "I'd HIT that"

I mean I understand your thought process, but it still can't dispute the fact that not long ago there were no other options but 30 Cal and 223/556 cans for the majority of buyers. Now it seems like you can get a can in almost any major caliber choice, so why not a .17 one (far into the future) day? I'm firmly in the camp of never say never.

I sure hope its exactly as you say, I wouldn't buy the OG22 if it was just a OG6-S with a 223 hole in it. I trust Cliff and the guys at Unknown to bring something to the market worth buying. To expand on my comment earlier, I'd rather have a purpose built 223 can for my 223 rifle than to use an overbore 6mm or even 6.5mm on it, gross. There's still a performance loss if the hole is sizeably larger than your bullet.

(hot dog in a hallway joke?)
