The Shemagh/Kufiya

Is there any substantial benefit to these for hunting over a shirt with a built in hood/facemask? Only thing I can come up with is getting it damp to cool off.

Btw I don't think most people would really care what color or type you were. If its not a burqa, hijab, yamaca, turban, or one of those long arab shirts. Then most people are going to assume it's scarf that you thought looks cool. Kind of like a white dude wearing a poncho or someone wearing a serape trying to get his Eastwood look.

I usually wear long sleeve sunshirts with hoodie while mowing, these are superior in that scenario. The sun shirts don't fit well under hat and most don't have built in face mask. I bring up mowing (its the only real world use I have to compare the different versions) because it is a kind of stress test with sun/wind/dust/heat.

The shemagh is easier to adjust to increase/decrease the amount of sun shading/peripheral vision that is achieved around the face, I can see this being very useful while glassing and shooting in the sun. I don't like neck gaiters when cold, so this could fill that role.

Would be interested to hear what use cases/benefits long time users have come up with and how that might help determine which version/fabric is best.

Basically--I'm running out of prairie dogs to shoot, it's hot outside and I've been stuck on call for weeks, so I need something to nerd out on.
