The Rokslide Stock Traders Thread

I've been in Oklo and Vernova for just shy of a year. It's been a great ride so far. Like I mentioned last year, SMR's are a wild ride. Large highs and large lows, but overall heading upward.

I work for Vernova on the natural gas side. We are balls to the wall for the next 3-4 years. Double the complete turbines that we have been doing. And tons more of repairs.

Anyone have a preference on MSTY vs MSTR? And why? I have some of both and have been debating on moving some Mstr to MSTY for the dividend. Would be in an IRA.
MSTR has outperformed MSTY over the last 12 months. MSTY is for investors who need monthly income. If I could start withdrawing from my Roth I'd buy some MSTY with it and take the tax free dividends. I am 57 and can't withdraw from my IRA or Roth without penalty so I hold MSTY in my non tax advantaged account and MSTR in my IRA, HSA, SEP and Roth. My May dividend payment was $5,828 on 2,456 shares. This month a small percentage of the MSTY dividend is categorized as ROC but the majority of it is going to be taxed as income. In my specific situation MSTY is ideal. I am living off the dividends until I can begin withdrawing from my IRA, HSA, SEP and Roth. Hopefully.

fmyth broke it down well. If you’re going to recycle the dividend back to Msty then you’ll get that compounding effect tax free. One question is how and when do you want to start dipping into your ira? Another thing to consider is how much btc do you “own” from each share of MSTR. Every time MSTR buys btc that amount goes up. If that is something you are interested in.

From what I can tell most own both. If one thinks btc will go up in price, which I do. Then the price of MSTR will go up which in turn should make for good dividends from Msty.

I'm thinking tomorrow is going to be up on the 🇨🇳 dealings. Gotta figure out which country he makes a deal with next and buy the stock of biggest exporter from that country before hand.

Current premarket said my concerns on ASST may have been valid, but we'll see what happens after market open.
Waiting the week out and then going to decide if I'm going to reinvest my MSTY dividend, right back into MSTY.

ASST diving like most predicted. Hopefully rebound a little before days end. Everything else is pretty green. It's days like this where I wish I had committed more $$$ last friday. If only I could time the headlines.

Galaxy Digital will go live on Nasdaq on the 16th under BRPHF, they have earnings call tomorrow. Galaxy Digital is a crypto holding company. They sold their Eth and bought Solana with it. There is a good chance a Solana ETF will happen this year.

Defi Technology (DEFT) will also go live on nasdaq this week. Also a crypto holding company out of Canada.

Defi is valued at $1.3 billion

Hearing a lot of talk (much of it from Elon) about the importance of solar energy to power AI, crypto, etc. Apparently China is putting a lot of money into this. Assuming he is correct (not interested in debating the merits of solar), what are promising companies poised to take advantage of this boom?

Tesla bc of their large storage systems.

Speaking of China, energy and $$$. They’ve invested billions in developing the first operational thorium nuke reactor. It’s based off of old declassified US tech. Thorium is much more plentiful than uranium and is far safer than a uranium based reactor. Something to watch for in the future. Pretty fascinating stuff and the history behind it.
