The Rokslide Stock Traders Thread

Warren Buffet announced today that Berkshire sold off all their airlines holdings this past week. 200 million on shares of Delta, Southwest, American, United, all sold. I think it will be a bad Monday for the airlines.

$CDEV Buffet lost $50 billion about 20% of all combined holdings valued about $250 billion. So with all due respect although he is one of the greatest investors of all time, it certainly doesn’t look like he played this right. in the shareholder video, he seemed visibly distressed, I feel taking a hit like that definitely dealt a toll and left a bitter feeling in his mouth regarding the market. But I think the economy will reopen as things slowly go back to normal. If virus spikes, all that we can do is increase health workers to deal with increased demand. Can’t keep the economy shut down for much longer or the US will begin to collapse. As long as the US doesn’t collapse, we’re good lol.

Wouldn't it be ironic if some of us little guys ended up with a bit of WB's kwan? After all, he's been taking others money for a lifetime. Frankly I was shocked when he (fairly recently) made a huge airllne stock buy. It seemed like a ballsy move to me. Reads like he soon after sold at a huge loss. Very un-WB-like.

The mighty WB humbled by an invisible virus. Such is life, but at least he has his life.

Buffets holdings are listed in an article on Zero Hedge today for those interested.

Buffet looks at long term trends, he has to. Berkshire is a huge tanker not a nimble speedboat...it wouldn't surprise me if folks can short term trade and out perform him.

Point is; His long term outlook isn't good.....

I've been eyeing up BRK.B for a few weeks, thinking it might be a good place to put some cash before the anticipated climb. Now I'm far less sure of that choice.

Buffet has the power to manipulate the market very easily. He will figure out a way to make some waves and increase his Net worth yet again.
Yep, all that has to be said is “Buffet bought XYZ stock for $$$$” and boom everyone is bullish on it.

Looks like gold is the only thing up for now. The biggest parts of our economy CA/NY are not opening up yet. We need CA/NY/FL, all the big populations rolling to hold everything up

I threw $100 in MVIS Friday because I was tired of shopping and not buying. Just sold for $175 pre market. I think it’s a pump n dump but not sure.

Anybody else using this dip to give younger people a shot in the arm and introduce them to the stock market?

I think if young people can buy in now and see with longevity how they can get their money working for them it could change the lives of many. It did me.

Put a limit order on Delta, PE, APA, XOM, and some more BA and HON and CDEV at .92 low today. Take some profits on CDEV this week as sitting on 60 k plus shares.

No brainer to me to pick up more XOM when it dropped for long term

There are a number of programs you trade stock with with fake money to get feel of it.

Exxon earnings announcement was an eye opener. They won't be able to support the dividend at the rate this thing is going currently supporting only 75% of it and dropping. Capx cut of 30%....and they are taking a hit on all sides.

Does anyone know how much of their oil production is hedged and at what rate?

Picked up AAL near its 52 week low.

It may test these lows or exceed them, but the airlines will be back. These entries are opportunities.

My 19 and 17 year old boys are both doing pretty well using the Robinhood APP. We have been really enjoying using this APP and taking part in the market. The market and economy has become a daily if not hourly point of conversation.

I’m reading a bit about Tyson. They are still way down from their highs, ought to be up and running full tilt shortly. Live animal prices are way down, retail prices are up. Might be a decent long buy, not sure yet.
