The Rokslide Stock Traders Thread

I didn't think about it at the time, but could you buy crude contracts while they were negative?
Don't see why not. Good question.

My question for you guys is, do you think that these formerly penny oil plays are 'bubble' proof going forward? Is it possible that a hard market correction/high WTI, heavy draws, opening up of travel, etc, will actually facilitate upward movement in spite of other stocks tanking?

That's really the way I see it, am I nuts?
Opinions? Lots of us are in this boat I'd bet with CDEV, GTE. BORR.....

I dont see why not, it makes sense. I was dumb and sold out of CDEV way too early, but I'm in on BORR still. I've got small positions in MUR AND XOM. Plan to hold as long as prices keep climbing.

HCMC? what's the call?

I was going to hold to $.01, but lowered my limit sell to $.008. It may hit a penny, but I think its pretty overvalued there. But short term I think they could hit a penny, im just assuming 80% of the shares have a $.01 sell limit so once it hits there will be a big sell off.

I sold half my 150,000 shares at .0045 to take some profits and cover my initial investment. I am going to ride the remaining 75,000 shares with stop loss at .0035. I will at least double my money there. I will probably sell it if it hits .0075. Could hit a penny, could hit a dollar, could be back to .0001 in an hour.

Pretty ugly this morning

A sign of health. Relatively small corrections like this lend credence to the idea that the "bubble" many analysts have been talking about will be much less traditional and maybe less severe than forecasted. Time will tell.

I saw today as a sale. Picked up BEP, CRON

Can some explain the settled cash thing I am dealing with on Fidelity? I put money into the account and bought some shares. I wanted to sell some for a quick profit but it says my shares are not settled. When I bought them I noticed my cash available to trade was high enough but I had $0 settled cash.

So if I wait to buy shares with settled cash will I be able to turn shares in the same day?
It takes a couple of days for the cash to actually get into the Fidelity account from your bank or back into your Fidelity account when you sell a stock. You can normally transfer money in and trade with it right away before the cash actually gets there. But then you have to be careful about selling the stock before the cash settles. I think you can sell before it settles, but then can't use those proceeds to buy another stock.

Check this out:

If you're in a cash account you can make as many trades as you want with settled cash. Pretty sure the 4 trades/5 days only applies to margin accounts.

What are current thoughts on MINE? Dipped about 50% the past two days, but they tweeted AH this evening that they got 400 million shares back by clearing debt.
Diverse company likely merging with PSYC (?) Wasn't lucky enough to buy at .08 hard dip the other day, but it's working it's way back.
Some correction is good..
