Seems to me it would almost be the exact kind of civil disobedience that is needed in this country to go and take an animal for food from Oregon each year.
Killing and eating animals is what humans have done for 1000’s of years to think that suddenly we shouldn’t partake in the natural cycle of life and death and allow any sort of law that would prohibit such is beyond the scope of reasonable thought

I don't understand how other states have it written in their constitution that hunting and fishing is a protected right,nyet in Oregon this hasn't been brought to the table? Or has it?

It has been brought to the last 3 - maybe 4 - legislative sessions with sponsors etc.; in last years short session it was SJR13.

Has not really gotten much traction though since the 'right' is covered in law [the exemption that is being rewritten by IP28 (and 3 & 4 before that)]. It mostly seems nobody really wants to rock the boat much and it would take a ballot measure to revise the constitution - easier to be on the defensive than take the offensive and bring it to light and let everyone have their say voting on a constitutional change. At least that is how I interpret it.

I listened to a good chunk of the YouTube above - these people are freaking nuts.
Their theories only slightly make sense if you attribute human rights and feelings to animals. According to them, if you artificial inseminate a cow, you are committing sexual violence on the cow - raping it. Putting animals on the same level as humans is asinine.
I recall one time there was a small child who somehow fell into a gorilla exhibit at a zoo. The gorilla did not try to intentionally hurt the child, but he drug and flopped him around like a rag doll. Those gorillas are so strong, it could have literally ripped the child in two. They had to shoot the gorilla and saved the child. Animal activists were up in arms that they shot the gorilla. I'm like "what"?? That is a human child, I would shoot a whole bus load of gorillas if it meant saving that child. Animals - humans - not equal! Although there are some humans that make you question that.

We all need to go on the offensive. Donate a few bucks to a wildlife org of your choice that fights this thinking. Promote hunting as a healthy alternative lifestyle to buying store-bought meat all the time.

If the hunting community bands together we are a huge force for good. If only some of us participate, we are hosed.

Totally agree. The other side is organized and actively working to restrict our freedom. I, like the majority of others, am busy with life and find it hard to have any time to contribute against this fight. Donating to organizations in support of hunting is an easy way to contribute. Anything helps $1, $5, $20 supports our cause.
