I am a 1 rifle hunter 308 Kimber Adirondack I have built many rifles in 308, 7mm 08, 300 mag and always take a 308 so now I have sold all but Kimber Perfect rifle for me
I'm limited in the variety of big game I've hunted. However, every whitetail I've killed with the exception of 2 have been killed with a Remington 700 Mountain that my dad bought used sometime in the late 80's or early 90s. I've missed a few too... It's chambered in 7mm-08 and wears a Leupold VX-II 2-7; someone bedded it before my dad bought it. Last year I worked up a reduced recoil load and my 10 (at the time) year old son killed his first deer, a button buck, with it. With PA's hunting laws we'll both be using it for the next couple years but I've got a Kimber Montana in 338 Federal that I'll be switching over to and hopefully he'll be using the 700 for many, many years.
I'm getting to the age and income that I hope to do some traveling to hunt in the near future. I expect that the Kimber will be my main rifle and I see no reason that it wouldn't be perfectly suitable for anything within ~400 yards if I do my part. It currently has a VX-I 3-9 on it but that may change... It's just so light with that scope.
Currently a 1 rifle guy with a Tikka 260 (also my PRS match rifle) and it just isnt practical. I am having a 6 creed TC Icon built and will eventually build another Tikka in 280 AI.
However, if i had to be a 1 rifle guy it would be a 280AI.
