Having used the Revic BLR10b binoculars extensively for well over a year, I was eager to get my hands on the new BR10 Gen 2. The BLR10b had become my go-to optic for hunting (rifle and archery), Precision Rifle Series, NRL Hunter competitions, and even 3D archery. They successfully replaced top-tier glass in my bino pack, but after extended use, I found a few areas where improvements could be made.
Enter the Revic BR10 Gen 2.
While the BLR10b is a fantastic binocular, I missed the edge-to-edge clarity found in some premium optics. The BLR10b provided a crisp, clear image in the center, but the edges of the field of view suffered from fuzziness. The BR10 Gen 2 addresses this issue head on. The BR10boasts significantly improved edge-to-edge clarity, providing a sharp, clear image across the entire field of view. This makes for a much more comfortable and immersive viewing experience, especially during prolonged glassing sessions.
Beyond clarity, the BR10 also delivers a noticeable upgrade in color rendition and contrast. The image presented by the BR10 feels warmer, highlighting warmer color tones. The increased contrast is also apparent, enhancing the definition of lights, darks, and textures. This improvement provides a richer, more detailed image compared to the BLR10b.
Revic has also refined the internal reticle layout. The new reticle design allows for a faster, more intuitive display of ballistic calculations and wind adjustments. Unlike the BLR10b, which flashed between the two displays, the BR10 Gen 2 presents both values simultaneously, eliminating any delay. This streamlined display is a welcome improvement for quick and accurate adjustments in the field.
In summary:
