On all my out-of-state hunts we have always shared meat. 2 of the 3 times I was the only one that killed. Each of the other guys got a quarter, I took the remaining quarters, straps/loins, trimmings, head/hide. On a caribou hunt, only my buddy got one. We both had half a bull on our backs and earned every ounce we hauled out. This year he has an elk tag, and I'm going along to help out with a bear tag. We've already agreed that we'll split anything 50/50 again. All of the guys I hunt with have the opportunity to shoot plenty of whitetail does at home to fill freezers. Sharing meat from a travel hunt is about sharing the experience
