The Madison

I'm pretty sure if you watch the intro to Marshall's, it says "based on characters created by Taylor Sheridan", but then it's written, directed, produced, etc., by someone else. I don't think TS has anything to do with that show.
makes sense... its awful

I honestly find it all to be just too much drama altogether anymore. Which i need absolutely no more of in my life. I should be in the basement reloading vs watching TV, but I still end up watching most of his stuff, or at least listening while doing other things as my wife is watching it as she likes to at least have me around for a little while most nights.
I do have to say, the things he writes and directs are certainly better than most anything else available presently. Granted, in many instances that's like saying horseshit smells better than cow shit...but you typically get good scenery and at least some thought put into the plot of most his stuff and he certainly doesnt seem to cater to much to leftist ideology coming through in so much other television/movies these days.
Its TV to entertain the masses and give them escape from the suck that is most of their daily 9-5...what do you really expect??
I'll agree Marshal's is just bad all together, Id like to hear off record what sheridan really thinks about that atrocious waste of characters he created. Im sure its an easy payday for him though, cant really blame the guy there. If someone wanted to pay well to pickup and carry a torch he no longer thought worth keeping lit on his own, why not? It is cringe worthy script writing though.
I feel for you MT folks . That was one of my first thoughts about the Madison too..."damn, another TS show
set in and glorifying the scenery and lifestyles of MT...the natives will be restless about this for sure".
Guess time will tell if it has any real effect, hopefully not.
I dont mind The Madison thus far. Its much less torture than other options I might have to endure to get some couch time with my wife and dog after a long day.

I'm 2 episodes in wondering how they're going to stretch it out for 6. Its a good cast and premise but probably would of been tighter as an hour and 45 minute movie

Marshals is just another run of the mill crime show.
I watched Madison and I thought it was well done but I will tire quickly of angry women constantly on the verge of crying pretty quick.
Great landscapes. Hopefully the characters will develop. I will keep watching Madison but Marshals will probably be a rainy day binge after they have a few seasons done.

Being a resident in Madison valley, it’s comical to watch some of these scenes. I know it’s a TV show, but half of these river scenes aren’t even the Madison lol.

At least the cabins where they are residing seem to be somewhere in the Three Forks area closer to Bozeman based off the vegetation and land scape.

They closed down Main Street in Ennis the other year to film, which ended up being a 5 second clip in the last episode. Also saw them filming off Ted Turner’s land on the Lower Madison closer to Bear Trap Canyon.

The Ennis there portraying in the show was probably the case 40 years ago. Now the valley is mostly composed of second or third homes for NR. I’ll keeping watching with my wife for now for pure comical reasons. At least we got to see that woman’s naked ass for part of the last episode 😂.

That's like us and Tulsa King. Stupid show and not even filmed in OK anymore because stallone thought it was too hot. Pussy! About the only thing filmed here was B roll. Most of the first season was filmed in Oklahoma City. People around here really like the Lowdown on FX for true local flavor. I'm sure it's much the same anywhere they film.

Are the screen clips from the show?
Nah, I used to do cool stuff back in the day.

That little horse was a good egg. Started him myself and did all sorts of ranchy stuff on him. Nowadays he plugs kids around for 4H events and gets little ribbons and grain for his efforts.

Like several other's I made it through 1.5 episodes of Yellowstone before the BS flyfishing scene and phony ranching stuff made the fakery too much to handle. Tried some Landman and even though I like Billy Bob T, the BS factor was high. Pretty easy to predict what was happening next. I'm done with anything Tyler Sheridan after that. Seeing adds for Marshalls has only solidified the belief.

Hard to believe he’s the same guy that did Sicario and Come Hell or High Water.

My advice to him is stick with movies.

I actually enjoyed Yellowstone but I admit the flyfishing on horseback was hard to watch. I got a little sick of TS. He seemed to think an awful lot of himself and the explosion of series was just too much for me. I thought 1883 was awful. The narrator girl was hot but her voice-overs were stomach turning.

Breathy voice: "I dreamed a dream of a land I dared not dream of before now..." 🤮

That said, my girlfriend wanted to watch Mayor of Kingstown and it pissed me off how much I liked that. My brother said the same would happen if I gave Landman a shot.

Appy? Or does he just have mud spots on his rump?

I used to have a quarter thoroughbred mix that would do anything you asked him, except work hard. I was on the Storey County Sheriff aux. mointed unit for about a year. We would provide security at the Virginia City camel races to raise money, and there was a long set of railroad tie/dirt stairs that led down into the arena. I bet a guy $20 my horse would walk down those stairs, and he did. But if we were out on a trail ride or chasin cows and he got a little tired, he’d try to rub me off on a tree, or roll on me, or back over a cliff. Anything but work.

No, he actually went full on flea bitten in his older years. Sometimes I'll drive by and see him. If I didn't know any better I'd think he was a different horse.

Well now I wanna see these camel races!

Can someone link the video of these dudes fly fishing off horses? An awful lot of hate for this one scene and I wasn't able to find it.
