It’s funny to me how many folks gripe about the internet- from the internet

Both. It allows hunters and others to come together on issues like public lands as one example, and to put pressure on lawmakers. However, it is also a platform for the idiots of which there are many, too many. I think it helps the anti groups advance their cause and sway non-hunters more than it helps hunters advance theirs.

Can we keep Rokslide around so we have a place to bitch about Sitka and Yeti and talk about manscaping?

You forgot KUIU haha! Kidding of course.

I think it can be a friend when it comes to awareness on issues that hunters and outdoorsmen need to know about. I don't necessarily see the internet as a foe but it is rather annoying when an area I hunt or want to hunt has endless information/hunters. At the end of the day I would rather run into other hunters occasionally than have the sport continue to trend down. I guess it's all a matter of perspective.

He/she who already has the hunting knowledge most likely finds the internet a foe and he/she who has not the knowledge finds it a friend.

The Internet forums can give you instant opinions with access to both experts and total wannabes.

The trick is figuring out who is who^.

Nyself: Im really a 17 yr old HS dropout that has never been out if my grandmas cellar, but on the internet i can give advice AND BE SOMEONE!

as someone who teeters on the split of pre internet and today’s world I have to say things were better beforehand, not just limited to hunting. all of the great things the internet can and has done doesn’t seem to outweigh the negatives it has had on everything.

foe.

I think it would be hard to sort out the cause between the readily available GPS, the improving of our nations way of life, and the internet.

There are several factors all arriving about the same time as the internet. Better bows, better clothes, better guns, better packs, better economy, ect...How would you parse it out?

I say friend. How else would I get exposed to so many ideas and opinions, all this new equipment?
