The case of the missing game bag - What say you?

Also most guides I know are covered up in elk meat… from clients and their own hunting they aren’t taking a tired ass elk shoulder that someone else shot and butchered and lawd knows how long it sat out ect… none of them are that hard up for elk meat
I think the speculation would be it's more of a harassment to discourage others from hunting their area. I dunno, normally wouldn't even think about it being them except who walks off down the road when a truck is coming to pick you up? It's just strange.
Also just tossing it removes any possibility of getting busted with illegal meat.

Sure I guess, but what is novel to you, a Non resident, is pretty routine to a lot of us residents.

For example, would guides in the Midwest steal a whitetail quarter? Doubt it.

Elk meat is fine, if you had a corn finished steer I’d be more likely to believe you. Glad you solved the mystery and had some fun, come on back, hopefully you don’t encounter another Colorado caper!!!
Idk man, I have a freezer with elk and beef for comparison. I’m reaching for an elk steak every time over a beef steak.

I don’t remember naming any states. Who’s to say I wasn’t t a couple 1000 miles north/west of you? 🤫

I'm not sure what their thinking was, but those guys 100% hid that game bag. You know it, I know it, we all know it. Its akin to finding text messages on your spouses phone detailing hotel meetups and trying to deny that there is an affair going on.

If a betting man, they tried to steal it....either to eat or to pizz you off. Guides don't like other hunters, generally speaking. You would have easily noticed if a bear took it...and the bear wouldn't have dropped it 40 yards away. And if some funny chance it did, it would have come back and grabbed it that night. Bears don't leave food.
