The Best Backcountry Pillow, that you already have!

I got this one after much reading and not wanting to spend $100+

Klymit Luxe Travel Pillow

It was great on a 2 backpacking trips. So good that I take it with me when I’m in hotels, as I often don’t like the options they have. It’s not the lightest, but I think you pay a price when you get super light pillows. At least that’s the way I’ve felt when I’ve tested some.

I’m not totally sure on the weight but I’ll check it. It doesn’t matter to me as I need something decent to sleep. Packs to about the size of a Nalgene. I think the large Compressable Pillow packs a little bigger.

Or if its 90 degrees and you're not packing a puffy.
That's the rub, its either cold enough to wear the puffy or hot enough to leave it at home.

If you are going with a purchased pillow, our multipurpose Triple S pillow is 7 ounces. Its not quite as comfortable as a good travel pillow, but it is enough support and soft for me. To sleep, I slide it inside a neck gaiter for more comfort, and can add a little height with a t-shirt stuffed in. I almost always have it on my pack when hunting. Folded over or flat gives you two heights.

This in “flat mode” plus an ultralight seas to summit that has the down face with just a little air (3.4oz or something like that) also makes a great option. Only challenge is keeping it “all together”. Been debating on using the pillow case from the “my pillow” to make this set up. Super light and utilize things I’m already carrying for the most part.
