Congrats @Bluumoon, nice work. If things go to plan and shipping isn't delayed, there is some hope that mine will be in for a 4th rifle cow hunt next week; scope, suppressor, and ammo are sitting here waiting.
I need my wife to not be home so I can do some real shooting eval w the rifle. I would suggest getting at least medium ring height to avoid bolt contact w scope covers.
Ask for forgiveness, not permission my friend.
When I spoke to Form last week, he suggested the lows. We'll see how I like the height, worst case I grab mediums. What scope covers do you have? I have scope bumpers on the way to try on a RS1.2. Timing didn't work out to get the Marshall before 4th rifle, I will let a friend hunt with it on a late-season cow tag and I'll get it down south on some whitetails in January.
I just have some cheap covers on the scope I threw on, the nice ones in the Maven bundle would be worse.
I bought the rifle (having shot the original test model) knowing that you need to use a “crab claw” grip to run the bolt. You do you, but I think most users will hate the low rings on this rifle. Form is wrong on this one, you can tell him I said so
I guess a positive would be I automatically open the scope cover when cycling the bolt w the lows.
Get better covers….
You do slightly change the crab claw with the Marshall. Easy peasy, but a slight change. That’s just the nature of the 90° bolt throw. And I’m not willing to give up the cheek weld to go higher.
