Correct. We all know a stiff breeze could kill a whitetail. You need a howitzer to kill elk though.

I bought two Preferred Barrels on the December group buy. 20". Think it's worth cutting them down to 18"? That'd still be over 3100 right at 18"?

What can are you using? I don’t think the difference between 18” and 20” is enough to matter as far as handling, you should be debating 16” vs 20”.

Plug the velocities into WEZ and see your hit probabilities.

Just the normal 66 grains of 570 and a DTac or TMK.

Yeah going from 22" to 20 will be nice. Right now using a TBAC 7.

Waiting to road trip to bug Avery to demo a triple six before I buy one.

Of the eight 6UMs I’ve built, the two most accurate had 7 twist barrels. Still, I wouldn’t think twice about using a 7.5T, since all of them have worked well for my hunting.

When I spoke with Sierra about using 116s in a 6UM, their two ballistics experts said a 7.5 twist would work, but they still preferred a 7T, and the 116 would handle it.

Now I’m self conscious about my little 8 twist.

Just need to pick up the barreled action and ordered 1,000 116’s.
