The 300 Project

The CA Slayer break looks mean and efficient.

Are you going to detail your load work up too?

Kind of, I'm not a ladder test kind of guy. I figure with custom rifles they should be more open to what I want to shoot:) But I will post up everything that I try, win or lose. It should be up and running this week for a little range time, then off to get Cerakoted.

Sounds like a well thought out project. Be nice to not be lugging 15+ lbs of rifle up the hills.

The 230gr hybrids are sure a hammer. Started shooting them in a 30-378 and my buddy shoots them in his RUM. Are you running Rem brass or nosler?Norma? Retumbo I assume.

I am running Bertram brass. I would not build another RUM if I had to use Rem brass.

This is what I have loaded up and ready to shoot.

I've shot a few elk with the 230 OTMs, they did great. Have a few friend that also hammer elk with the 230 hybrids. Can't wait for bear season:)

What speeds do they get out of the 30-378?

I'm getting just under 3000 with RL33. I was out of retumbo when I started loading the 230s. May try a few test loads with it soon but rl33 is working great.
Are you running them close to the lands?

pretty excited about this project Ryan. I'm building a damn near identical RUM as well.

As the guy doing the cerakote work on this build I'll be adding to this thread with some pics after I clear other jobs out of the shop.
