The 22 creedmoor thread

I see preferred offers a .169 22cm smk freebore, is that better for the 88tmk loads if I ordered ammo from UM or copper creek or stick with the .120 as that's still fine for 88s (I'm going to be trying 80 eldms too). fingers crossed federal come out with a gold medal 22cm 88 tmk and 6cm 107 tmk factory load

I’m in for the 107 TMK factory load

Would you guys deal with higher SDs if the load just shot lights out? Found a steal on some Superformance powder. Ran a 10 round ladder of 45, 45.5, 46, and 46.5 grains. I'm chasing as much speed as I can get with a 73 ELDm. 46 and 46.5 grains shot a .75 inch group at 100 yards and I'm very happy with the velocity, 3363 and 3415 fps respectively. But I'm talking like a SD of 18-22. Other powders I have ran I have had SDs of 5-9, but the velocity and accuracy hasn't been there.

Does a guy say F it, the gun likes it and just roll with it? I have never used Superformance before, is that typical of it?

SD of 18-22 is fine. Keep blasting away!

Coyote from last night…. 272 yards with the 77 TMK. Pinwheeled him.
Have you shot many coyotes with the 77 tmk? I switched from eldvt to the tmk for coyotes last fall when I ran out of eldvt and had an abundance of tmk. Almost all of my exits are large, explosive holes. I actually prefer it because I'm not keeping hides. One less bullet for me to buy as well.

This is with my 22 arc, which is strictly a thermal setup so drift/drop past 300 doesn't matter to me anyway.

I’m at 4 with the 22 CM and 77 TMK. I wouldn’t say exits have been massive. I had one at 100 yards I shot square in the chest - when I walked up to him I noticed he was actually still breathing and needed another shot to finish him. Beside that, the rest have been just fine.

Funny you mentioned the ELDVT … I have 100 of them loaded for my other 22 CM. It shoot the 62s well at 3650. The few coyotes I’ve used them on went down quickly and had nice exits.

A pair of coons at roughly 150 yards. When I walked back to the truck, I noticed another coon running up a hill. Shot him at 300 but didn’t care to make the walk back out for a pic 😂.

I used 77 TMKs a little this winter going out of a 22 creed at 3400. I had some massive holes. Also so weird stuff (More flopping around then coyotes shot with 80 bergers that I have used.)

This one pic was a frontal shot at 100. It basically filet the skin open on the entrance.
