The 22 creedmoor thread

Where are you at in barrel life?
Action screws, bedding, scope bases and screws: all good here?
How are you sizing brass? Did something happen to your dies?
Muzzle crown? Suppressor? No damage or built up carbon?
Screws are the next thing I’ll check and will probably happen tomorrow. Everything was loctited and torqued. Dies are Hornady bushing dies. Suppressor has been a scythe until it blows.

Oh shit, it’s probably just the powder switch then. Don’t fight it. The barrel will tell you what it likes. If you want small groups, shoot the H4350. If you want speed, shoot the N560.

If you want to keep working towards both goals combined, try another powder. N555 gave me 50-100fps over H4350 and still shot really well.

This - mine really likes N555

N555 at 42.2gr did well for me from my 18in barrel with 88s. Lower node is 3035 avg mv over 10 rds. Ironically it's the exact charge I run in my 25cm prs rig with 135s at 2870mv.

I thought I had more 10 shot groups, but here’s 2 with random flyers. Groups ain’t bad other than the one out View attachment 1028146View attachment 1028147
In looking at all of your groups, yes, there are a couple that have some "flyers," and one group is more open than the rest, but honestly, you could have just been having a bad day, poor rear support, wind, mirage, lack of mental focus, ammo issues, etc.. I would shoot a 20-round group to get a better picture of what you and your system are capable of for a baseline. Make sure you go through your mental shot process for every round.

I have the same issues. Gun and load are solid but there's a certified mentally challenged person behind the rifle

Maybe I’m too picky. I’ll look thru my notes and try more than 10. I have a 25cm and it’s consistently under moa for 10 without flyers like I’m seeing with the 22cm

If your gun doesn’t shoot the Hornadys, it doesn’t shoot them. The 80gr M and X, and the 88gr ELD-M have been the most finicky? worst shooting bullets I believe I have ever shot overall. Some barrels do well with ten, lots don’t. Bergers don’t have those problems, SMK’s don’t have them, 77gr TMK’s don’t and it looks like 88gr won’t either.

The brass is once fired. I’ve changed powder from 4350 to n560 because I wasn’t getting the speed. I got much better speed but I would get flyers with it. Barrel has about 180ish rounds thru it.
So it was shooting good with 4350 and shot worse with 560? Seems like the powder change is the main culprit if you had a combo that worked and switched it up.

Loaded 10 and shot them. Groups still ain’t great so I’m kinda leaning towards the bullet at this point. Once the 88tmk comes out I’ll try them. IMG_1934.jpeg

It’s the bullet I think. Hornady 75 eldms shoot like that in my gun. But 80.5 bergers don’t and the 77 TMKs don’t either.
