The 22 creedmoor thread

The cats prefer them over venison.
Yeah the chassis is a bit agricultural but gets it done. Got a hunt 26 for the next one but will be keen to see some decent pics of the new MTN folder
Being a third lighter than the HNT26 with folder and quite a bit stiffer foreend with a better folding hinge it should do well. The buttstocks an acquired taste but it should ride a bag and saves a rather large amount of foam weight.

Is there any general consensus on expected barrel life on a 22CM? Assuming this is not handloading for the hottest rounds. Thinking through trying to get sufficient same lot ammo/components for the life of a barrel.

Would 3k be reasonable or to much to expect?

I think 8-1200 is more reasonable

From what I've seen mentioned, 1200 to 1800 is a reasonable expectation before throat erosion effects accuracy. This is all dependant upon rate of fire.

its all about speed. How fast you push the bullet, how fast you shoot the rifle and how fast you forget to clean it.

Plan is factory ammo so not pushing it too hard, shot strings no more than 5 at a time. Likely never clean it.

I know none of this is exact, just kind of trying to get in the ball park sounds like maybe 800-1200 on the 22CM and 1500-2k on the 6?

That’s about right. Every barrel is different and depending on your accuracy requirements it may go a bit longer.
