Oh boy!!!
You could have already had ammo delivered to your house and had it waiting on the barrel!

Haha so true! I did get to Helena this weekend and saw those boxes of Hornady eldm ammo. Then saw the price and was reminded why I handload But let's be real that's way more expensive.

Gunna go ahead and get the brass primed. Payday hits I'll run to Scheels first some bullets.

Would you guys be happy here with 77TMK’s in 16.5”, 5 shot group right at .5”? I feel like as a new reloader I really should be?

It’s only 5 shots but that looks good to me. I’d load up another 50 and shoot before any hunts and make sure nothing weird happens with pressure or anything and then rock on.

I would probably call it for this season. Not sure what powder you are using but you likely have room to get a bit more juice out of her so long as the accuracy holds or do don’t get any pressure signs.

What did you get for speed?
Same barrel length I've got. What powder?

Checked my shelf. Found about 20 or 77 grain Bergers and some 69 grain Hornadys I think they were. Stuff I'd bought for my AR. Enough to load up some rounds to get me on paper at a hundo and start load dev.

Disregard. Pic didn't load at first and I'm a little retarted...

That was 0.6gr below a very light ejector mark doing a pressure ladder. I was hoping for a touch more speed but I'm tired of tinkering and want to settle on a load for this fall, loaded up 100 last night with that recipe.

What's your comfortable shooting range gonna be on muley's with this rifle?

100% condition dependent but 500 would be my theoretical self imposed limit in perfect conditions. With my data at my hunting location the TMK should be over 1800fps past 650. I practice out to 1000 every weekend, and shoot multiple competitions every year. This rifle had no issue taking a nice one last October at just over 300 with a 75gr ELDM. Saw him stand out of his bed and put him right back into it.

I feel like a 22 CM is going to be in my future soon.

You won't regret it! I have two, they are so much fun. I've taken many many deer, hogs, and coyotes with them. The only reason I touch other rifles is for legal requirements or competition minimums.
I think it'd be a great kid rifle for whitetail around here at minimum. Just a fun shooter for them.
