Are you going to deer hunt with them?We shall see.
I’d be interested in seeing how they do.
My 22 ARC shoots the 62’s really well.

Has the 62VT been too soft or too hard on small soft targets?

First will be gel and gel with mediums once I can get some pulled apart and reloaded to reduced loads. This way I can shoot them into gel and gel with animal bones and hides at various impact speeds and learn. Are you going to deer hunt with them?

I shot a deer with 100gr eld-vt last year. Massive internal damage but no exit. I posted pics and necropsy on this site. Are you going to deer hunt with them?

If you could link that or point me in the right direction I’d appreciate it.I shot a deer with 100gr eld-vt last year. Massive internal damage but no exit. I posted pics and necropsy on this site.
I think the good group this morning was just a statistical fluke.

I shot again to see if there was a speed difference for @The Guide. There might be.

I didn't pull and jam but I shot my 2.680 ammo and then some 2.650 ammo.
Take it with a grain of salt though because some of my brass is toast after this firing but the results line up with what I've been seeing all along.

Its a kick in the pants because PVA is marketing their 22 creedmoor chamber to be superior and ideal for longer bullets and they cost a lot more than their competitors. I'm going to shoot some deer with these 88's and then finish the barrel with 77gr TMK.
On the last s2h podcast they mentioned more barrels than not
I’d have a hard time giving anything too much credence if brass comes out like that after firing.
On Thursday @BLJ posted about Ruger releasing the American Gen2 in 22CM. I checked on Sportsmans and they were order only. Did a internet search and Scheels had one in stock in Billings so I did a web order for pickup on my way through town on Friday for a rifle and 5 boxes of 80 ELDX ammo. Stopped at Red Rock in Miles City and found some 80 ELDM and picked up 2 boxes.
I got a chance to shoot it today. Before I left the house, I ran 1 wet patch down the barrel and patched it dry. Didn't take the action screws out because you can't get to the rear action screw w/o a ball head hex and I didn't have one. I took the rail off and degreaseed the screws and the holes. I mounted my new Maven RS1.2 on it and went for a drive to find a spot with low wind and no rain. 2 of my spots were muddy and windy and the one at the end of the country was dry and winds were under 10 mph so we shot.

The top middle group is shots 1 to 5 from the new clean unfired barrel with the 80 ELDX. Under an inch and definitely worth revisiting with a seasoned barrel. Wasn't as fast as I had hoped for that load. 5 shots averaged 3039 fps with a 20 ES and an 8 SD.

Shots 6 to 10 on the barrel with the 80 ELDM. These were again at or under an inch but had better velocity. 5 shot average was 3116 fps with a 31.4 ES and a 10 SD. Little faster with similar SD and ES. I slipped my dials for this round. I'll finish these 2 boxes and revisit the 80 ELDX.
Took my steel to 475 and fired 10 as fast as I could load them (3 round mag) and put nine shots into a 8 inch group and sent one high off the plate. The first 20 rounds were fun. The bullets hit the plate with almost as much authority as the 6.5CM does with 140gr bullets. I think I have found my dedicated Thermal and NV gun.

Very impressive, not so much the cartridge used as I am used to the 22/250 with heavies, and its performance, but I never really considered hunting with a lightweight chassis22 CM with 80 ELD-M’s. MV 3170. 585 yards.
Entry wound. Exited offside lower leg.

Same gun two days later. 458 yards.
Entry wound shown. Exited offside, gushing blood from the aorta. Dropped right there.

What’s the current thought on options for a factory 22CM?
Looks like Ruger American and Weatherby 307 are about the only sub $1500 options. Finding a ⅛ Tikka and rechambering is an option but not as easy since I don’t have a gunsmith I work with.
Wait until next year and see what other options are available? I plan to hunt with my 6arc this year anyway.
I goofed up with my gunsmith and picked this up today. This seems like a good place to cross-post...
$685+ shipping
Tikka prefit, 1:7twist, 22creedmoor chamber, 1/2-28 muzzle threads, unfired, by Black Canyon Customs. Ballistic advantage barrels are single point cut, this is a slimmer contour, probably similar to a Tikka.
Long story short, I took a Vanguard action, a Tikka action, and a handful of barrel blanks in, and goofed up the notes. This was intended to be on the Vanguard. I paid $450 for cut, thread, chamber, and $235 for the blank, so looking to come out even and try again.

LS Wild has prefits in stock for a good bit less, different lengths and threaded. If you want something right now, then the best way is this:
Buy this rifle: https://www.eurooptic.com/jrtxe315-tikka-tikka-t3x-lite-243-win-syn-224--barrel-mpn-jr
Buy the barrel linked below. Get on the list to borrow the tools to do the swap (thread is in this forum somewhere). Swap the barrels out and sell the barrel that came on the rifle for $100-125. You would have a sub $1200 rifle that I expect would shoot great.
Quick snap. It's nothing special. They've released it in the "Go Wild Camo" version with Burnt Bronze Cerakote. 3 round AICS mag that feeds well. 22" barrel threaded 1/2-28 with a silly little radial brake. I'll do a better review on it at some point. Please post pics of the rifle when you get a chance, thanks
