I would be curious to hear from someone who has had a confirmed failure to expand as far as what it sounded like?

If anyone does have evidence of this, can you please keep it over on the other 2 dumpster fire threads that are discussing bullet failures? I don't want this 22 creed thread to turn into one of those pissing matches as well.

Perfect! I wasn’t aware there were threads dealing with that topic or I would have started there. Sorry, I work to much to stay up on everything going on in the forums and I didn’t think about just focusing on that bullet/velocity. Thanks for the info.

Hope I didn't sound too harsh, but it's been a hot topic this last week on other threads and I didn't want to start seeing it here. Let us know if you find out what your problem was though!

Sounds to me like misses.

What are the specs on the rifle system?

It’s a custom build on a Gunwerks action with a 22” 7.8 twist bartlein if I remember right. I had that barrel spun up almost two years ago so it could be 7.5 twist. I would have to check my notes. The gun consistently shoots ten round groups between .5-.8 prone off a bag and I can almost always hold 1.5” off a tripod even on a bad day so a two foot miss is hard for me to see happening but I’m certainly not saying there’s no way. In fact I’m kind of with you at this point because I can’t come up with any other explanation that seems reasonable.

Was able to get around 100 rounds through the 22 Creedmoor and 2 other guns as well, practicing various shooting positions from 200 yards out to 1,200 yards with strong and variable/shifting winds. The factory 19" stainless Tikka barrel is still a hammer...

Shot a coyote and then missed his buddy for a double kill on the way out, so the below shot is not a "true" cold bore shot, although the barrel had fully cooled sitting in the back seat for 45 minutes bouncing around.

Seated shot, front long Spartan bipod, no rear rest. 608 Yards. Dialed up 3 MIL, held left 0.7ish MIL (wobbled from 0.5-1.0 MIL as the shot broke).

Perfect elevation dial and lucky/perfect wind hold/call as I center punched the gong. It was all the gun and the Rokstok, I basically didn't even do anything :sneaky:

Ya'll doing any marketing on this stock @Ryan Avery or are you keeping it "close" to Rokslide and Shoot2Hunt until production is ramped up ? Everyone who I go out and shoot with wants one after trying a few of mine out and have never heard of it. I have to tell them orders are turned off for a bit longer unfortunately.

You could probably stock the ODG/Coyote/Black with tear pattern as an available color online as nearly everyone wants that paint scheme who sees it.

Nice rifles. What chambering? Looks like all UM rings? What height has been working for you with the maven's?

Not at all, I shot the gun again tonight and everything seemed completely good to go. I even dialed the scope up and back between shots and checked torque on everything so it seems that I just forgot to not suck that evening. lol

I’ve been there! We were shooting movers (moving targets) a couple weeks ago which I have a good amount of experience with. I had so many misses I was blaming everything but myself and even checked my guns. It was all me.

Thanks for the moral boost! Lol. Sometimes it seems like being an adult just involves me saying “sometimes that happens I guess” and moving on without ever really figuring out what “that” actually was. I just know “that” is pretty much always my fault.

Any possibility that you forgot to dial back to zero? What scope, BTW?

That is what happened to me on last year's moose hunt. First shot was over the back because I had dialed for 600 and he swam into 425 before giving me a shot. Second shot was in front because I got flustered after the miss and forgot to hold wind. Shot 3 impacted the water as he started to walk back into the lake (would have dropped right into a heart shot). Shots 4-5 were short because I was way inside my own head at that point. I shouldn't have listened to my guide who told me to keep shooting.

That was my first thought after the coyote but I reached up to dial down and I was already dialed to .7 mil which is my norm when I’m antelope hunting. That should only leave me 1-1/2” high at 200 yards give or take. I actually dialed down and back up between the shot on the first dog and killing the second one in basically the same spot. I checked after the antelope as well and everything was good.

That’s a rough day on the moose man, I’ve never been in that exact position but I’ve been close enough to feel your pain!

Well not really a big ask in the 22cm
But data is data

62gr eld-vt
47.2 gr N555
Peterson LRP
Fed 210m
24” preferred barrel 1:8 twist
20 shots averaged 3820fps.
It’s 1 mil flatter and same wind hold as 80 eld-m at 750.
It was about 50* this morning
If I was hunting a lot of coyotes this would be my main bullet/combo

Holy crap is that cooking for that bc.

Post deer season I plan to work up a 62 eldvt load in the 22 creed.

I have a 20in Preferred Barrel shooting a 62 eldvt at 3410 fps. That’s with 39 grains of Varget, alpha LRP, and a fed 210.

Might need to jump over to N555 with that kind of speed though.

What are you using them for?
Shot anything with them yet?

Hopefully coyotes, if the bullet does well. It’s my wife’s new gun so hoping to get her out on a few stands this weekend. We’ve just killed some paper so far.

I’ll report back if she connects this weekend.
