Im sooo looking forward to getting my 22 Creedmoor this week. Ive always wanted to make my 22-250 a fast twist to shoot the heavies but hated the feeding issues Ive had with magazines and that round's taper. The creedmoor was a natural progression considering... Ill share some pics of it once its here. Im so glad I found this thread and we can all share notes. Thank You. :)

I got a Tikka T3X Lite in 22-250 with 1-8 twist that I am going to have reamed. I ordered Alpha SRP brass cause I don't wanna use up stuff for my PRC. I have 4831sc,4350,Superformance,H1000,6.5 Staball,Staball HD,Retumbo and Ramshot Magnum. I have RL26 but don't wanna use it up till I find some more. Looking to shoot 75 ELDM or 80 ELDM or Berger. Any advice on what might be the optimum combination? Thanks

Either eld-m over H4350.
The 75 is a flat shooter with great wind for practice

Thanks, I see a lot off people use 4350 but when Hodgdon doesn't list it makes me leary a little. I'm pretty green to reloading. Seems to be pretty big variance in powders. Just trying to find some good data with the SRP brass.

I use QuickLOAD to fine tune my data. After finding that every loading manual has different data, I learned to have this as another point of reference that gives me a little more control and knowledge of what’s going on. Let me know if you want me to run some data for you, I’m happy to help.

Hodgdon likely had little to no involvement in the development of the 22cm
They list all very slow powders use em if your more comfortable
Peterson, primal rights and horizon firearms all use H4350.
Prior to the 22cm h4350 was great in the 22-250 and 22-250ai.

Hadn't heard of it. Looks like a really good program. Just looking to see what's optimum for the 22 Creedmoor. Building it off a Tikka T3 1 in 8 twist 22 inch barrel. 75gr ELDM SRP brass.

I know several people that all they use is H4350 with 60gr vmax in a 22-250. That's why I hadn't dismissed it. Typically seems like where I coyote hunt at their never in closer than 150 yds usually 300 or so as its very open. So I wanna shoot as close to what my 22-250 does. Just wanting to lay the smack down on them a little more. Maybe deer hunt some too

H4350 is the best balance of speed, temp stability and barrel life.

I just ordered a prefit from PBB today. I ordered it 20" and am hoping to run the 88s at 3050. I'm excited to get this project rolling!
I've got the exact same barrel from PBB: 20" 22cm is going on in a couple days. Also hoping to get the 88s to around 3050-3100fps; will update as I prepare it for the late season hunts.

What powder do you plan to run? I already have 3 rifles shooting H4350 so I'm really hoping it likes it! Looking forward to seeing your results.

I'm going to start with H1000 but also have H4831sc and RL23 if needed. H4350 is a bit fast on the pressure in the 22cm IMO, though I recognize many are using it successfully.

H4350 isn’t too fast
You won’t get 3050 with any of your listed powders
Max charges of all of them is going to get you to 2950 out of that 20”

You may very well be right, and I'd be fine with that. I also have a pile of the 80g so I may try those, too.

Has anyone tried Ramshot Magnum in this cartridge? I like the looks of this powder for 22 Creedmoor and consistent metering.

I’m approaching this project in typical reloader fashion…. Got two Tikka 223 barrels coming this week, a couple thousand 88gr ELD-M bullets arriving tomorrow. I have a feeling a Tikka action or T3 in 22-250 will be the last acquisition 🤦‍♂️
I ended up picking up a couple pounds of Superformance to try out. My KRG Bravo and brass arrived in the mail, and my rifle and barrels are out getting rechambered.

I plan on stealing an NX8 4-32 scope from my 223 or 6mm ARC Howa, whenever SWFA ships my backordered 6x42. It said “in stock” when I ordered….. :(

I'd be interested to see how the Superformance does. Dropping my Tikka off this week to get reamed. I'm really leaning towards the Superformance powder. I got Alpha SRP brass to run in it with 75 eldm CCI 450's
