Well. I've decided that I just can't get my pack and gear light enough so I'm gonna have to give up Sheep Huntin. I just can't get my total pack weight under a pound. There's no way I can handle humping all that extra gear weight on top of a whole ram or 2 anymore. Even with the NewGen MonsterLite 9200 pack. Maybe if I buy the new Backcountry InstaDry and dry the sheep meat on the mountain I could do it but the InstaDry weighs a whole pound itself. I should be able to recoup some of my $28,485.43 I've spent on gear though so it won't be a total loss.

Here's my gear list that'll be going up for sale in the near future. Let me know if you see anything you think you could use. Most if it's pretty heavy though. I've got a few other items. Let me know if there's something you need. I may have it.

Hmm.... It looks to me like you need to get back to basics. Lucky for you, I can help. I'll trade you the whole lot for this Trapper Nelson pack frame, a sporterized 30-40 Krag, and a hudsons bay wool blanket. The Krag even comes with custom maple pistol grip screwed on and a genuine aperture rear sight.


Some blood stains, and the pack creaks a little from hauling out too many goats, sheep and assorted other animals but it should all work fine for your new, less strenuous hobby of hunting squirrels near the back yard bird feeder. It's all useless for modern mountain hunting of course, but that is a high risk sport anyway and you are wise to give it up.

When can we make the trade? I've got a whitetail hunt booked on a ranch in Texas and need to get outfitted ASAP.

I wanted the rifle setup, but I'm afraid that the ammo is going to blow the pack weight budget. Darn'd, that was just what I was looking for. Seriously, I'll thumb wrestle Ryan for the tripod. 10 ft and doubles as a meat pole... how could you go wrong. Will the tipitenttarpbivy really keep the bears out? Wouldn't need the bear fence if it would.

I want the stove, as long as it's the model with the espresso maker with 2nd gen frother. The 1st gen version had a problem with making proper foam at altitude.

I just found another LighterThanAir tripod in my gear closet. If your partner is tuff enough to pack it and you pack yours, you can combine it with the pole from the UbertLight-Ultra TipiTarpTentBivi Combo and do this...

If you wannabe a true ultra-lightweight mountain hunter you can pull the scope off the SuperSlam Ti Carbonfiber 50 bmg...
