They are getting hammered by this weather. Bad brownouts, water sources freezing up, and it looks like it is getting worse.

Hopefully, if some of y'all live down there, you're doing ok.

My house has been lucky. We haven't had any power outages. But, most folks have. Many people have had to leave there homes to bunk up with friends. A friend's of mine had it down to 42 degrees in his house. Lots of people have been without internet for a couple of days. So, the cell phone data is getting taxed very heavily. Texas doesn't deal with this winter stuff very well.

Trying to keep my pool/pump from freezing and keeping my fingers crossed our power doesn’t go out. Everyone I know has lost power on rolling blackouts or is without power. Crazy thing is that it isn’t only electricity people are losing. My family is losing not only electricity but also gas and water.

My Brittany Spaniel tried killing herself a hour ago walking across the ice in the pool and she fell in. Thank god I heard her yelping and holding on the side of the pool.

Warmer weather can’t get here fast enough.

Foot of snow in Wichita Falls. Many without power. Luckily we have kept power and a fire going. Just worried about the roads when the snow melts and freezes overnight

Just checked in with Mom and Dad up in the panhandle. They are doing ok and haven't lost power, but its been bitterly cold. They said -30 last night. I know others further south aren't as lucky. The further south you go, the less prepared they are for this kind of weather. If you are down in that country you might check on your neighbors.

Glad your pup is OK. Looking forward to a couple months from now when we are all complaining about how hot it is.

Lost power Sun night thru Tue noonish. Got down around 50 inside the house, 8 on the outside. No water issues, yet, thankfully. Many many people are far worse off. Some hospitals in Austin are having water supply issues. God bless and take care of our first responders. Aggravating for all, quiet serious for a lot of folks. Hoping the freeze breaks soon.

Man that frozen pool just looks scary.

Hope everyone down there can stay safe and warm until things get back on track.

Crazy thing is people up here in north and South Dakota are having rolling black outs to save power down there. When it’s 32 below doesn’t take long to mess stuff up. Didn’t get above 0 for four days here. Crazy how stuff way down there affects way up here

Drip the faucets in your homes! At least the faucet farthest from where the water comes in from the main. And pull the plugs on your pools and hot tubs so the plumbing doesn't explode, or open the lowest plumbing fitting so it can expand there and eventually melt out.

We have been blessed - no issues with power and our propane tank was full.
Big fire going and we are trying to minimize power use to help out. Some folks have it pretty tough right now.
All the pasture & barn pipes frozen so we’re carrying water, tractor won’t fire off so we’ve been pushing round bales into the pasture by hand.
We are in the equipment business -
sent two water truck to hospitals down south today so they have flushing water.
Looks like tomorrow might actually get above freezing.

We just got back from a trip to Big Bend park. Had to cut it short due to hotels without power, no gas. We drove 350 miles before finding a station that had both power and gas. Over 500 miles and no gas stations with running water.

Found the perfect place to take a leak along the way.

The coastal fish are taking a big hit, they’ve rescued 2500 turtles last I heard

How the hell do people further north deal with this kind of weather year after year? It's embarrassing that us in Texas have had such a hard time. I am embarrassed anyway...

Not normal conditions. Nothing to be ashamed of other than politicians stupid enough to think they have all the answers.

They own this really...

Yeah fish kill on the coast is going to be bad, fishing won't be the same for a long time. My folks are down on the coast, have been without power since Monday and now the water has been shutoff, should have power Friday, but haven't heard about the water.
