So what is the deal with this pack? I never hear much about it and it looks pretty solid. Is the price driving people away? What are your thoughts on this pack?

There's a lot of proven options (Mystery Ranch, Stone Glacier and Kifaru) at that price point, so I would guess that's why you don't hear much about them.

I know the frame is strong, but it's as heavy or heavier as other options and again, not proven for long term durability. The frame is a little on the short side for an extended mission ruck/load hauler, but that also depends on your height/torso.

Price made me immediately check it off the list, then I saw cam hanes using it and noticed he didn't get a ton of shoulder lift with this pack loaded up. I've met him in person, the guy is like 5'8" so I assume the frame is fairly short as well.

My buddy bought on and asked me what I thought. I told him the frame was too short without having seen it in person. Usually I don't do stuff like that but he was being a jackass and saying its a way better pack than anything else and will way out haul any of the packs I've ever used.

I linked him to this:

Told him to check out the sweet amount of load lifter angle with the pack on when paused at the 2:10 mark when the pack is still empty and doesn't have any weight in it. Looks like how the NICE frame looked when I was hauling caribou out 12 miles with just the NICE frame and load sling. Just too hard to get the weight off your shoulders and on to the waistbelt when the frame is that short. Was enough to steer me away right off the back.

For the money there are MUCH better options out there IMO.

Still smiling in the pack at this point but you can see even straight on that the frame is below my shoulders and I couldn't get most of the weight to the hipbelt. Did the same trip the following year but with the NICE 6500 bag on the frame and was MUCH improved with the load lifter extenders provided in the 6500 bag itself to make the frame taller.

Luke thats what my MR looked like even when the 6500 extensions. Being tall sucks. With that said i have some shorter friends that love their MR's

Well you being a tree could make that tough....I beleive even with the extensions on the 6500 it takes the 20" tall MR nice frame to a 24" which is on the verge of not being tall enough for me even at 5'9...but it worked....I always go with the taller frame no matter what these days. :D

I was looking into this pack but picked up a Kifaru for less thanks to a member here. The amount of help from Aron is worth more than i can even explain not to mention the ability to resale and customize my Kifaru makes it a no brainer in that price range!
