Run the tyvek sheet through teh washing machine and then dry it on the fluff/no heat cycle. Presto! noise gone.

Will give that a try. There is a current ban on hunting things that are not clothes going into the washer.

I may or may not have put a soft tackle box in there that had a plug cut herring in a side pocket. This incident was a few years back. Really amazing the smell it left. Pungent, burns the nose.

If you want lightweight and disposable go with window poly film...get a few trips before you need to replace.

I use the 1.1 oz silpoly PU 4000 from ripstopbytheroll. The PU coating makes it more waterproof and also less slippery. As an added bonus the coating also stops it from fraying on the edges. I just order one the length I want it and it folds up and gets rolled in with my sleeping pad.
