I’m going to buy a stove this year and I’ve never had one before. My main question is a water tank. Is it a must have? I’ve read that you have to keep them full or they will warp. I’m looking at Colorado Cylinder stoves.

Thanks guys.

I never used the water tank for my Colorado Stove. Like said above, a kettle works fine if you need hot water. But if you want to use it........go for it.

I have one but only use it sometimes. It’s really nice to have for cleaning dishes, bathing, and hot water for coffee when you have a big group. It consumes a lot of water so mostly use it if waters not an issue. Definitely not a must have but mine came with the package I got so happy to have it.

No water tank for me. Just one more thing to drag along. Heating water is fairly quick on the wood stove using a pot or kettle.

I use a winnerwell stove which has a water tank option that I use at base camp but I find that heating water in a pot is more convenient if I'm a ways from the vehicle.
