Anyone else have trouble getting the cap off the elevation turret?

Have tried a few things with no luck....I really dont want to scratch it up with channel locks. Any ideas?

I was able to get it by wrapping some electrical tape around the lower half of the elevation turret to secure it to the main scope tube to keep it from turning, then used channel locks to get the top cap off. Did take the paint off a few of the notches long the top edge of the turret, but I don't care. Likely the first of many scars.

Just to clarify, the OP’s problem had nothing to do with the Zero Stop per se…he had issues just getting the turret cap off.

Yup, I was just thinking it’s good to know so if mine is overly tight when I get around to setting it up it won’t be a surprise.

I have 3 and all of them have had tight elevation caps. I have some soft jaw pliers that’s used. The plastic inserts kept it from marring.
