They are supposedly one of the lightest and most recoil reducing suppressors on the market.

But not at the same time. The brake is what reduces recoil, and it also adds weight.

With 1 port and 2 port brakes, they are still lighter than my nomad XC as it ships much less with a recoil x end cap attached. Sub 10 ounces with brake is light. The OL tests showed better recoil reduction without a brake as well.

Adds 1.1 Oz according to their website although I don't believe anything they say. They have been dishonest to their customers from the start which isn't a good look.

What am I missing with these? Why are people ordering them?

Based on the data available to me, the Tenet was the best combination of size, weight, recoil reduction, and sound suppression I could find in a very attractive package. I think it should make a great hunting suppressor for my 6.5 PRC. I ended up ordering a Limited 7 with One Port.

Based on the data available to me, the Tenet was the best combination of size, weight, recoil reduction, and sound suppression I could find in a very attractive package. I think it should make a great hunting suppressor for my 6.5 PRC. I ended up ordering a Limited 7 with One Port.

How’s it compare to the u7(gen2)?

I don't expect to receive my Tenet for about 6 weeks. And I won't be able to do a direct comparison because my TBAC is a CB mount.

Measurables based on published data from both manufacturers:

Tenet Limited 7 w One Port:
Diameter: 1.75"
Overall Length: 5.4 + 0.9 = 6.3"
Weight: 7.2 + 1.1 = 8.3 oz
20" 6.5 CM Shooters Ear: 129dB (add 8 dB for one port brake).

TBAC Ultra 7 30 w CB Mount
Diameter: 1.5"
Overall Length: 7"
Weight: 8 + 2.6 = 10.6 oz
24" 6.5 CM Shooters Ear: 129dB


Comparing TBAC and Outdoor Life's recoil reduction numbers. I'm expecting and hoping for about 50-60% reduction in recoil from the Tenet. This is something I'll never measure or compare on my 6.5 PRC. I'm hoping to be able to spot shots easier than what I can currently do with my ZG6.5. I'm also hoping the braked Tenet 7 will have less back pressure than the ZG6.5.

I love my TBAC 7. Unless you are looking for something very specific, I highly recommend buying a TBAC U7 in 30 or 6.5.
With my current line-up of 6.5 PRC, 6 CM, and .223, I think a guy that only wanted one can would be very happy with a TBAC U7 6.5 with CB mounts on all three rifles. That would be excellent.
