Temporary boot repair

I got a smoking deal on some used Meindl Alaska Hunters on eBay that have barely been worn. Vibram Soles are almost 100% but the mid soles have some hydrolysis going on in a couple spots probably from sitting for so long. I plan on getting them resolved eventually but I’m hoping to use these in November for elk and wondering if anyone has any experience doing a temporary repair with aqua seal or an equivalent on this type of issue. I was thinking of using a dremel to clean things up first then applying then filling.

3M 5200 marine sealant would be what I would try. Pay attention to the cure time on the package, they range from 24h to 7 days or something like that.

5200 is a polyurethane sealant, have used black polyurethane roof and flashing sealant from home depot to reattach soles to a pair of alpha burleys that separated, have remained attached.
