Teepee or tarp tents in mosquito coutry

The ants can be really bad in some areas I hunt here in CA where there is a lot of down/decaying wood. I'd love to go floorless, but I cannot see keeping crawling insects out without a nest. I've had to use a mosquito net over my face and cinch the opening of my bag to baseball size to keep them out on a trip where we did not bring a tent.

These are the guys I have the biggest fear/problem with going floor less around here. I still do it, but will feel more comfortable when I get a bivy sack to go with my tarp. Centipedes pack a wallop...kinda like a hornet sting. Satan incarnate

Yeah, ants and peeds.... have to have a sealed in floor IMO. With peeds..... think small rattlesnakes that like to burrow into bedding and such.

The Stephenson's designer and founder was a "naturalist". I think he's retired and the son runs the show now. Didn't see any neked folks on their website anymore, but did notice if you request a catalog or a catalog pdf you have to state you are 18 or over... some nudity. Classic. They've been around since the 60s if i remember, kind of legendary in the industry.... =D
