That was a good buy. I didn’t need it, but was watching that auction and meant to get on and put a bid in but got busy and forgot.Just picked up a new/old stock Omega of Gunbroker after reading the recommendations here.
Planning on putting the Williams sight on it. Any other upgrades you guys recommend for it?
Haha. Typical forum replies. "Good gun. Just get a different breech plug, barrel, stock, peep sight, and recoil pad." $1000 later and you should have a great gun!
Enjoy the smoke pole, whichever way you go with it! They are good shooters, even without all the upgrades suggested above.
Good luck this season!

With a WA SML-capable barrel and the right loads you’ll be extending your range to 300-600 yards pretty easily….Guess that I'm just a beginner as I only have 4 Omegas and I keep thinking about "upgrading" but they all shoot so well that I just keep on killing things with them. Each of mine prefer sabots with 245 - 250 grain projectiles and aren't very fussy as to which breed.
What are the benefits of the WA breech plug over OEM? Thank you!!Woodman Arms adjustable 209 plug. And…when you really want to take it to the next level - put a WA barrel on it.

A couple. It’s adjustable for headspace so you can dial it in for whichever 209s you want to use (they all vary in length) so that you’re getting .003-.007” “crush” on the 209 when you close the action. This eliminates primer blow-by. Which makes the rifle shoot more efficiently and cleaner. And the 209s doesn’t get stuck. The other advantage is that they use a carbide or stainless flash hole bushing so they last much longer than an OEM plug. When the bushing erodes you replace it instead of the whole plug. The plug itself is made from 17-4 stainless so it’s much more corrosion resistant than whatever they make OEM plugs from. What are the benefits of the WA breech plug over OEM? Thank you!!
