Taxidermist to fix mtn goat.

Beautiful goat! Sorry about your mount mishap! As much as I dislike waiting the 18-24mo that my taxi takes, the job is always top notch; the long timeframe and quality seem to go hand in hand.

I think next time I drop something off, I'll pay the extra $150 and have them euro mount the skull + horns/antlers so that I can still enjoy them while the hide is being tanned and then bring it back in when they're ready!

Any update with this situation? Did you ever get a “finished product” from your taxi that you can share?

Well picked the goat up today. Didn’t go as I had hoped. Expressed my concerns to the taxidermist in a calm manner and said it didn’t look good. Showed him pictures of what I was expecting and asked what we could do to fix it. His response was “how about you just take that goat and hit the door and never come back” in which I did and said some choice words with him telling him how I felt about his work and promptly left.

Kanati: 18 mos
Dewey: 12-14 mos
Double Nickel: 8-12 mos
Monarch: 12 mos
Wildlife Revolutions: 10 mos
Wildlife Gallery: 8-10 mos
Zimmerman Wildlife: 7 months

I’ve only used Zipperman wildlife in Martinsburg, PA for deer as that’s the only thing I hunt for now … but they are the best I have seen . I’ve seen Kanati at the Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg PA and Zimmermans does better work in my opinion.

We’ve been using Zimmerman for probably 20+ years between myself and my dad. He’s mounted a lot of animals for us, including a full-size goat. Their work and operation are first class.

Man that’s sucks. Sorry that happened to you on such an awesome animal.

Not sure if you want to deal all the way in Texas but Allen Palermo taxidermy is one of the best. They have done a TON of mine and my family and friend’s animals. Elk, aoudad, axis whitetail, predators, cats, they can do it all. Check them out anyways.

Guys on here have beyond helpful pointing me towards taxidermy.net, And even had a guy that had a cape he was willing to sell. So it’s not super difficult. But the taxidermist I plan on using says they believe they can use the same cape.

Replacement cape. That wouldn't do it for me. I'd live with it.
I recently lost fur & money at a major fur handling facility. I'm over it. It's not worth it. Life is too short, go hunting !
