Looking for something for this mule deer season. Have a back packing tent but really thinking about a tarp. Not necessarily for hunting but to hide from that hot early October sun and or rain or snow.

What are you guys using?

I'm sure the higher end tarp is fantastic but if you're looking for a budget option a tent footprint off Amazon has served me well. The 7' by 7' comes in at .8 lbs and costs $18

Get a Warbonnet GT and use it for your sleeping shelter and glassing tarp.

Or get a custom tarp from Borah. You don’t need a 10x10 DST for glassing. You can get something less than $100 and 8-10 ounces.

I have a bear paw wilderness Silpoly tarp for this purpose. It is reasonably priced and very light. The first one I had delivered had about a quarter size hole in it so I sent it back. The second one they sent had a smaller hole in it that I decided to just fix myself cause of cost of shipping a second tarp back to them. After repairing, the tarp has worked well but I would set it up and throughly inspect it if you get one from them.
